With kaitiakitanga (guardianship and protection of the environment at our core, we're focused on developing sustainable trails that offer access to the stunning natural landscape of Queenstown.  Whether a runner, biker, or hiker, our trails are your trails.  We hope you enjoy them.

QUEENSTOWN TRAILS STRATEGIC PLAN

Our focus for the next 10 years
will be these four pillars:

Trails

  • Trails - further enhancement of the trail network, broadening the scope of the trails on offer from accessible cycleways and active transport routes, to multi-day adventures and backcountry single track.

  • Environment - We want the trails we build to have a positive impact on the environment.  Enabling appropriate access results in an array of conservation outcomes and we're proud to be an active supporter and member of the Whakatipu Conservation Alliance.

  • People - are at the heart of everything we do - trail users, land owners, stake holders, events and funders.  Linking communities to spread the economic benefit of the trails to the wider region, flourishing trail commerce and enhancing the trail experience for trail users are all vital for the success and enjoyment of the trails.

  • Technology - is becoming an increasingly important part of the trail user experience.  Queenstown Trails is seeking to better connect to our audiences, allowing us to continually improve and enhance the trail network and the trail experience.
