Due to major infrastructure upgrades along the Frankton Track, a detour via the sealed footpath alongside Frankton Road will be in place throughout 2026. Please follow signage for the alternative route.

Monte Christo Gibbston Cellar Door

Located directly on the Gibbston River Trail, Monte Christo Winery’s Gibbston Cellar Door is an easy and scenic stop along the Queenstown Trail.

Set within the restored 1860s stone stables of the original Gibbston Hotel, this historic building once welcomed gold-rush travelers and now offers cyclists a relaxed place to pause in the heart of the Valley of the Vines.

Park your bike, settle into the courtyard, and enjoy a hosted tasting or a glass of Monte Christo Winery’s estate-grown Central Otago wines. Choose your wine flight on the day or select your favourite to enjoy by the glass. Pair your wine with our build-your-own small plates — a relaxed selection designed for sharing, grazing and refuelling mid-ride.

Walk-ins are welcome for small groups, with larger bookings available by arrangement.
