Frankton Track

Due to major infrastructure upgrades along the Frankton Track, a detour via the sealed footpath alongside Frankton Road will be in place throughout 2026. Please follow signage for the alternative route.

Swain Bridge remains closed while repairs are underway. Works will take 4–6 weeks, with detour signage in place. Please follow crew instructions on site.

Shotover Country and Lake Hayes Estate are large residential suburbs located to the east of Frankton. Both suburbs have parks, public toilets, water fountains and a network of suburban trails that link to the Queenstown Trails. There are also cafes, restaurants and a small grocery store.

The Twin Rivers Trail runs around the perimeter of both suburbs, and there is also a trail linking across the state highway to Waiwhakaata Lake Hayes.
