Due to major infrastructure upgrades along the Frankton Track, a detour via the sealed footpath alongside Frankton Road will be in place throughout 2026. Please follow signage for the alternative route.

Swain Bridge remains closed while repairs are underway. Works will take 4–6 weeks, with detour signage in place. Please follow crew instructions on site.

Located next to the Frankton Track with views over Frankton Beach and Lake Wakatipu, Driftaway Holiday Park offers modern, family friendly accommodation to suit every budget.

The accommodation range includes: tent sites and powered caravan pitches for those travelling with their own gear, plus studio cabin units and family units with more shelter and privacy.

The modern Facility Hub, situated at the heart of the park includes clean shared bathrooms, a large indoor kitchen with full cooking equipment, outdoor BBQ stations, laundry facilities, and a drying room for wet kit. Kids are well catered for with a jumping pillow, playground, embankment slide, and indoor games room.

Driftaway has three private hot tubs for guest and public bookings. Booking in advance is recommended.

Frankton Track connects to Twin Rivers and Kelvin Peninsula Trails at the near by Kawarau Falls Bridge. The wider trail network can be accessed by shuttle or trail ride.

There are several shopping centres located in Frankton, including supermarkets and bike shops - a 10 minute bike, or 20-30 minute walk. Queenstown Airport is also near by - just 20 min on foot, and downtown Queenstown is a 20 minute ride along the Frankton Track.
